You should not have to shrink in order to heal.
Too many wellness spaces still leave people feeling guarded, unseen, or unsure whether they truly belong.
Still carrying everything alone
You need room to release the stress, responsibility, and emotional labor that have become too difficult to name.
Guarded in spaces meant for healing
Rest is difficult when you are monitoring how you are perceived or wondering whether your whole self is welcome.
Disconnected from meaningful community
Healing can feel incomplete when the space lacks cultural understanding, genuine connection, and people who recognize your experience.
Healing should not require you to code-switch, explain your culture, or audition for belonging.
How we hold this space
You can be fully, unapologetically yourself here. No explaining. No performing.
- Come as you are. Nothing needs to be fixed, prepared, or presentable first.
- You set the pace. There is no pressure to share, speak, or participate in any particular way.
- Every space is trauma-informed and led by someone who has done her own healing work first.
Wellness that honors your whole self.
JBAF creates space to release what you have been carrying, reconnect with your body, and experience care rooted in culture, dignity, and community.
Fully exhale
Release the pressure to perform and settle into a space that welcomes your whole self.
Reconnect with yourself
Use movement, breath, sound, stillness, and reflection to feel grounded and present in your body.
Heal in community
Be witnessed and supported without having to translate your experience or carry everything alone.
Practice wholeness
Develop a relationship with rest, boundaries, and alignment that can support you beyond a single experience.
Why we exist

We built the space we needed too
We know what it is like to enter a wellness space and immediately feel the need to become smaller, quieter, or easier to understand. Some of you almost did not click because you have been disappointed before. Jess Breathe & Flow was created from that same knowing, and from the belief that healing should bring you closer to yourself.
Ancient wisdom. Embodied practice. Serious scholarship.
Jessica Metayer is a 500-hour advanced-trained yoga teacher with an MS in Organization Development from Pepperdine's Graziadio Business School. Her graduate research with 15 Black executive leaders examined the hidden labor of holding it together inside systems that were never built for you. She has brought that work to teams at Workday, the International Justice Mission, the City of Lyon, and BCon, across the U.S., France, Costa Rica, and Japan.

— ShanilTae, Google Review
"This is exactly what was needed to recharge and get back to myself. The space was peaceful, and everyone who attended was welcoming."

Arrive as you are
We will guide the experience. You only need to bring yourself.
Healing is not about becoming someone new.
It is about returning to the self beneath the roles, expectations, and weight you have learned to carry. High-responsibility environments can quietly require continual proof, perception management, emotional labor, and responsibility for others. Over time, that hidden work can consume capacity while becoming difficult to name.
JBAF brings together movement, breath, sound, stillness, story, and community to create the conditions for restoration and reconnection. This is not wellness that asks you to assimilate. It is a practice of remembering that rest, joy, connection, and wholeness have always belonged to you.
Healing is a homecoming.
You do not have to make the journey alone.
